Camp Cope - How To Socialise & Make Friends

Score: 7.3

The second full-length album from the Australian band Camp Cope is an intoxicating and forceful record that retells stories about gender injustices, lost and refound love and severe self-deprecation and acceptance. While the instruments maintain the somehow numb pace of the songs, it's Georgia Maq's potent voice the most prominent element, the one who elevates emotions and sometimes saturates in relatively equal parts. This album is a perplexing testament of youth, and a kind of second phase coming-of-age histrionic adventure.
