The debut full-length studio record by composer and bass player Sam Wilkes receives a lot of radiance from his own cacophony as well as from others's. And maybe that's the problem: the majority of the songs here feel too packed up and all-over-the-place to be focused on expressing something cohesive. It's the more is less formula what keeps the album from being successful, though the last track suggests that the artist works best when his craftmanship is paired down with vocals - no matter how disorienting or faded they sound.
