After many years of delay, we finally see a full-length album from the Ethiopian American singer-songwriter and producer. The record is lustrous, prolix and airily sexy. And while her approach to experimental R&B may draw comparisons to the likes of FKA Twigs, Janet Jackson or the Knowles sisters, Mrs. Mizanekristos somehow finds her own way to individuality and self-assurance (no matter how vulnerable she gets throughout her songs).
