John Talabot and Axel Boman's debut collaborative album is rich and vivid in afro-induced, jungly synths and bassy, darky atmospheres. At times, it feels euphoric in its danceability; at others, stealthily escalating. The Night Land is by definition a deep, somber, bittersweet electronic album, but it's also the starting point for an enigmatic, charming duo career.
