The American emo band's third album touches themes like lost friends and a life marked by and hurt upon depression and anxiety disorders in ways that feel raw and real to the extent of overwhelmly oppressive. Tightly paired with fellow musician Julien Baker, You're Not As _____ As You Think (as its title reflects) can lead to terribly dark and pessimistic places or ohterwise make you believe there's a chance for shine and improvement to happen. And as its cover, it seems their members are all running from/by life and its drawbacks in what ironically looks like an evening spare time activity: maybe that's their point.
