Newcastle-Upon-Tyne singer-songwriter (almost troubadour) presents a concept album where he distills life and pain from different people's point of view in an imagined medieval England. All the songs work wonderfully, irritating as much as impressing for their erratic behaviour, their stubborn cynisim and their majestic crystallization. Those who love Joanna Newsom's music (or at least folk music that transports to a different historical period) will be more than pleased.
