The third album from British guitarist and singer-songwriter Anna Calvi is a brilliant display of rawness, sassiness and sexual liberation for the artist and her material. The songs feel filthy with their heavy guitars and relentlessly hard-driven drums, while the lyrics aim at blending sexual and gender barriers as well as freeing the hidden desires and pleasures of herself and all human beings'. As it is stated, Hunter builds up on the image of the one who hunts and the one who is hunted, and it feels potent and real in both roles.
