The third album from Nothing is a bland mixture of uninspired shoegaze and generic indie/noise rock that doesn't take you anywhere but to randomly dark places or corners. There's a huge difference between sounding intentionally and prolifically deadpan and lackadaisical and unintentionally listless; and, by falling into the latter, Dance On The Blacktop rarely succeeds.
