The debut full-length album from the Chicago duo Ohmme has a lot of potential for its weirdly executed guitar passages and melodic structures, but it's sadly underwhelmed by the slow-burned and lazy vocal performances of the singers. It's a shame, since the lyrics are cryptic and surreal but still politically challenging and thought-provoking. Parts divides itself into sections, where some work really well and some doesn't. One can see glimpses of a brighter future, though.
