The debut full-length album from rapper Joey Purp tries to push boundaries in trap/hip hop while, at the same time, taking features and influences from some of the most trending acts we have nowadays. Some songs are edgy, challenging and utterly vibrant, but others fall too generic, redundant or self-sabotaged at the verge of cringe-worthiness. QUARTERTHING might be a bit hit-and-miss, but it's still an enjoyable, perpetrating experience.
