The debut full-length album from Xiu Xiu frontman Jamie Stewart is an exploration through his modular synths and his excessively reverbed vocals. It's a haunting, intoxicating record that touches the darkest corners of the singer's subconscious and occultism, and it's a menacing, daring and texturally rewarding noise/drone record. While it certainly won't break anyone's mind, it surely does a fantastic job in conjuring up truly obscure experimental music.
